Parent Letter January 2009
Dear Parents,
Welcome Back!
I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Christmas break. This has been a great year and I just can’t believe second semester is already here. I want to express my gratitude to everyone for all the support Oak Grove gets.
- Through Jingle Jog the students and Volunteers were able to create over 130 care packages for the troops! Thank you to all the volunteers that helped Mrs. Richardson and Mrs. Colvin.
- Thanks to McDonalds for donating free lunches for our Student of the Month Program.
- Students bringing in Box Tops for Education have helped the school raise roughly $450 this year.
- Thank you to Mrs. Martin for a great Christmas musical.
- The teachers appreciated all the help from the room mothers during the Christmas parties.

Visiting School or Late to School
We ask for parents to remember to check in at the office if they are visiting school for the safety of our students. The number of visitors we have is also an important number we turn in for funding and our school reviews. By this time students can find their way around the building, but if it is still necessary to walk your child to their room, please remember to check in at the office. Please remember that the teacher will probably be busy and won’t be able to speak with you at that time. They will be happy to get in touch with you later, but cannot take the time away from the rest of the class.
Early Drop Off
Students being dropped off at school before 8 a.m. will be enrolled in Latch Key. Latch Key charges are $1 per ½ hour. Parents need to sign their children in for the Latch Key program daily. Students dropped off before 8 a.m. that are not signed in to Latch Key may be sent to the office.
Office Depot
When you make a purchase at Office Depot be sure to mention Oak Grove School. Office Depot is generous enough to donate 5 percent of the amount you purchase to the schools. Just tell them that you want to support Oak Grove when checking out.
