Parent Letter September 2008
Dear Parents,
School is underway! We are so excited to be starting a new school year. We
want this to be the best year ever for each child that attends here.
- The front parking lot is closed daily 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. If you need to come in the school during these times, please use the county road, park and then walk across the parking lot.
- By now, all of the children should know their way around the building. To protect instruction time and keep the kids safe, all visitors are required to sign in through the office from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. before going to any other part of the building. This will be enforced starting September, 8th. If you have any concern of your child knowing where to go in the building please let us know.
- A traffic note was sent home with each student. If you need another, please ask for one. If someone new will be picking up your child be sure they are aware of our pick up and drop off procedures.
- Mule Messenger is available. Thanks to First Community Bank, you may sign up for Text Messages from the school, or any schools of your choice through our website (www.r1schools.org).
- Parents can help support our school by simply saying “Oak Grove” when you make a purchase at Office Depot. Mentioning our name puts 5% of your purchase price towards Oak Grove School. It is extremely helpful.
- If your child plans on eating breakfast at school, they need to be dropped off early enough to eat and be in class by 8:30 to avoid being tardy.
- Football season has begun! Our first home game is Saturday, September 13th. We encourage everyone to go and support our Mules; however, students are not allowed to be dropped off at the games without adult supervision.
- Please keep us informed about phone number, or address changes.
- If your child is going home a different way than normal please send a note or call. Otherwise your child will be sent home the normal way or put in Latch Key.
- We encourage all items be labeled with the child’s name.
- If your child is enrolled in the Latch Key program, they should not be picked up before 4pm. If you are here before 4pm, they should be in the parent pick up line. Parents must walk their children into latch key and should not use the back entrance in the morning or before 4:15 in the afternoon.
