Oak Grove
Parent Letter February 2007
Dear Parents,
The month of February brings 18 regular school days that are jam packed with excitement and a lot of work. February may be the shortest month but we have a tall order of events.
- We have started our St. Judes Math A Thon. We appreciate all of your support for this important fund raiser.
- Latchkey now has a phone available after 4:30. All students who are not picked up through parent pick up are taken to latchkey. The regular number will ring latchkey after 4:30.
- 3rd/4th grade students have started KNBL (Knowledge Basketball League). Classrooms have picked teams, mascots, and even got to show off their team spirit at a pep rally. Classrooms will compete on MAP like test for a chance to attend a Championship Party.
- They have begun the process of turning our old library into 2 classrooms. We hope that this will help with the increase of enrollment.
- February 8th will be our annual Chili Supper. Tickets will be sent home with the students to sell a week in advance. All money or unsold tickets need to be turned in Feb. 8th. The chili may be picked up 4:30 p.m. 7 p.m. If you plan to carry your chili out please bring your own container. Come help support the Oak Grove PTO and enjoy a good bowl of chili while you are doing it.
- Our lost and found collection is over flowing. If your child mentions losing anything at school tell them to check at the office. Most things when found will be turned in there.
- Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year nomination forms are available through school and at the local Wal-Mart. Applications are being taken from Feb. 5th through Feb. 23rd.
