Welcome to the Poplar Bluff R-I School District
Dear School Patrons:
Where has the summer gone? Like most of you, those of us who work in schools will probably say it went too fast. It has been a challenge to complete the district's planned building improvements this summer. All are on schedule and will be ready for the start of school. Students and staff at Oak Grove and O'Neal Schools will see the new classroom additions. O'Neal also has new tile and paint throughout the hallways. The new roof at the junior high school gym returns the building close to the original roof line. The high school has undergone many necessary up-grades this summer with new lighting, heat/air, new ceilings and windows. It is my hope that the renovations will enrich our instructional environment for students and staff.
If you are new to our school district, I would like to welcome you to the community and congratulate you on becoming part of a school district that features some of the finest teachers, support staff and administrators in the state. For families returning to our district, welcome back and I hope this year is a great one for your children.
We at Poplar Bluff R-I are ready for a great school year. If you have any questions at all, I encourage you to visit any of our school buildings for answers. We will be glad to help you in any way we can.
Respectfully,
Ernie Lawson
Superintendent
