O’ Neal First Grade Art

“Gordon, you got the Da Vinci.  Good!  I wonder what portrait is hidden here.”

“I don’t know, Hue, but I want to look at all these fantastic artworks.”

“Sure, Gordon.  We can look them over, and maybe we will find what portrait is hidden among them, also.”

          “Alright.”

“Hey, Hue.  I think the missing portrait is a portrait of Rembrandt.  Wasn’t he a Renaissance painter?”

“Yes, he was, Gordon.  He also had an eye problem.  If you look closely at the eyes in his portraits, only one of them is looking at you.  The other one is staring off to one side.”

“Really.  But he painted so well.”

“Yes, he did.  But his eye problem really wasn’t a problem when it came to painting and drawing.  He would just close one eye, and use his good eye.  It made whatever he saw in mono-vision.  It really helped with his painting and drawing.  However, he could not catch a ball for anything.  You need two good eyes working together the do that.”

“Oh, I didn’t know that.  Here hold this Da Vinci while get the Rembrandt.”

         “Go for it, Gordon!”

“Got it.  We can go to the Second Graders’ artwork next.”

          “Yes.”

“All-righty then, I’ll click on the sign.”
